State Border Committee is a republican body of state administration, which conducts state border policy, ensures border security, is in charge of regulation and control in this area, coordinates the activity of state bodies and other organizations in the field of the state border policy and border security. 

Staff of military and civilian personnel of the State Border Committee is approved by the President of the Republic of Belarus.

State Border Committee is governed by the Constitution of Belarus, legislative acts regulating issues relating to the state border policy and border security, including the present Regulation, other acts of legislation.

State Border Committee is a legal entity, has a real and code name, seal with the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus and its name, flag and heraldic symbol - the emblem.

The property of State Border Committee is owned by the Republic of Belarus.

State Border Committee is a border service body and heads the single system of  border service bodies of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter - the bodies of border service).

State Border Committee consists of main offices, departments, sectors (groups), services.

Financing of the State Border Committee is effected by the republican budget and other sources provided by the legislation.
