Border zone, borderline

BORDER ZONE - land area adjacent to the State border (average depth of 30 km) within a part of the district, city, small town, village, which also includes the part of waters of border rivers, lakes and other surface water bodies, belonging to the Republic of Belarus, and Islands located in these waters, designed to protect the State Border..

BORDER LINE - land area adjacent to the State border (average depth of 10 km) , intended for the construction (building) and maintenance of structures and facilities, necessary for the State Border guard.

BORDER REGIME - rules for entry, temporary stay, movement of persons and vehicles (hereinafter - the entrance (entry), temporary stay and movement) in the border zone and border line, registration, maintenance, navigation, and location of water vessels in inland waters of the Republic of Belarus (the waters of rivers, lakes and other surface water bodies, the coasts of which belong to the Republic of Belarus) within the border zone and border line, maintenance and use in a border zone and border line of vehicles not subjected to use on roads, floating objects and aircrafts, as well as the undertaking economic and other activities in the border zone and border line.

Limits of border zone and border line within the regions are established by appropriate regional executive committees.

Control over the entrance (entry), temporary stay and movement in the border zone and border line of individuals and vehicles is carried out by the Border Guard Service and the internal affairs bodies.
